We're thinking of getting a couple of tortoises, this isn't a spur of the moment thing, we've done a fair bit of on-line research, been to 2 pet stores that sell them and asked for advice but I wondered if anyone here actually owns one and I'd be gratefull for any snippets of information at all. It looks like the Hermann breed is a good 'beginner' tortoise according to the centres but we've been given various advice on vivariums so would love to hear from anyone who can help. Many thanks. |

In response to your rant about the insurance - I myself am an Insurance Broker and deal with Household and Motor Insurance - A tip to drive down your household buildings insurance is to only insure for the cost of rebuilding your property NOT the current market value and ALWAYS shop around - it really doesn't pay to be loyal these days - which in my opinion is a crying shame!! |

On deciding to do some family history research, has anyone you know signed up to one of the many genealogy web sites and are they pleased with their subscription? I have paid various amounts for 'pay as you go' but this rapidly expires when it isnt the person you are looking for so it could be a very expensive mistake to sign up for an annual subsription!
