Angela Bailey asks (3rd April 2008):
Q.
Can anyone remember the name of the website where you can list items you want to ged rid of, that are too good to just dump, but that you don't want any money for? I think it was something to do with recycling. My husband & I are divorcing and need to downsize drastically, but don't have the time or energy to do a car boot sale. Any tips would be gratefully received.

Hi there, the people you are looking for are called freecycle, depending on th area you live in there could be others . Environ comes up with some good sites you can also call your local council who would be able to give you more contacts.Other wise try a local aution room as they often have general household sales and you would would be surprised at what can sell.

Thanks, that was the one I was thinking of. Only problem is I'm having problem registering, it looks as if you need to have a Yahoo email, which I don't. Am I being just a bit thick here? Or can anyone give me some advice, thanks very much!

Hi Angela,
Yes you need a yahoo account but your username on freecycle will be your yahoo email too, if you havent got one its free to set up and once you have set up you can change the settings so the emails come through to your normal email address.
Hope that makes sense
Sam

Freecycle website is great, I've managed to get rid of quite a number of items no longer needed. Definitely worth setting up a Yahoo account for this.
