Bernie says (19th April 2008):
>>Receive a registered letter for Seasons Holiday s saying i had won a prize. Nice website but I was a bit suspicious so I googled them. Looks like it could be a scam. A company with that name were successfully prosecuted by trading standards and fined 6 years ago - See http://www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/index.asp?locID=7089&docID=3539
If these are the same people and it does look like they could be - they are still at it!!

dorothy says (21st April 2008):
>>i got a letter sent recorded delivery about three weeks ago, saying the same thing, i ignored it.
then got another one - saying to take up the offer and two free passes for cheltenham races and the holiday! but everyone thinks it is a scam, so leaving well alone.
if i have won a prize, then they can send it direct, without me having to ring them, to confirm it.

Daisy's girl says (25th April 2008):
>>I had a phone call from Select Holidays who said that I had an award that I hadn't picked up. Said that he needed to confirm that we were still earning £18,000 per year. Said info came from shopping questionaire. Never give out financial info.on questionaires. Why do we need that kind of money to win an award if it's not Timeshare ? He rang off when challenged. Beware !

Kamla says (2nd May 2008):
>>We used Seasons Holidays last year for a wonderful self-catering holiday in Scotland. Although I wouldn't say the accommodation is 5* but definitely 4* and my parents-in-law thoroughly enjoyed it. I bought the half-price package at the Good Food Show the year before, and though meant for 4 people, we were allocated a chalet for 6, at no extra cost. Cheap holiday!

chloe stoakes says (27th December 2007):
>>To get many items free the best website is freecycle, you just type in your local area and people who have items surplus to requirments post on here or you can say what your wanted items are. I got a Hamster cage for my daughter from here free and it was in perfect condition. The great thing about the site is it helps the landfills so you are doing your bit for the environment too!

Caron says (1st January 2008):
>>I've been a member for a couple of years now and I mainly use it for offloading my clutter - clothes, computers etc. Haven't managed to actually get anything free yet as it seems to go as soon as it is posted. I have also posted a couple of wants but had no luck. I will keep trying though!

melanie Cheetham says (10th January 2008):
>>Freecycle is brilliant. I have got rid of various stuff from christmas trees to craft materials, jigsaws, goldfish, pond plants and received food processor, pond plants, exercise bicycle!

M Harris says (13th January 2008):
>>I went everywhere to get rid of my baby's pram which was in great condition. Thought it would do someone a good turn. No charity shops, young person projects etc would have it due to health and safety! Someone suggested freecycle and we had so many responses. It is not difficult to set up particularly, and since it has saved us lots of trips to the tip! Worth doing.

Margaret Marks says (29th January 2008):
>>Freecycle - I have been using this for a year now and it is the most amazing site I have ever subscribed to. I have received some fabulous items completely free and have off loaded things I would have taken to the tip.

***Jeanie Says***
You're a girl after my own heart Marie. My Boots (apparently only the larger ones have the machines) also had vouchers for free mini Trevor Sorbie products and free points in store and online (750 points online). So I am siitting here with a nice cuppa, brousing www.boots.com (Cashback available) and all those lovely 3 for 2 products to get some of the pressies and those extra points. So much less stressful.

Jeanette says (7th November 2007):
>>I have had loads of calls today from 0845 6853000, it is a scam as you can see from below it will cost you £2.50 per minite if you except them, so heres what has been said about them.
"Got an automated call three times in quick succession today "you have
received a reverse charge call, press X to accept the call", no details
of who it was from, their number or how much it would cost. Looking up
the call costs it seems like accepting it costs a min. of 2.50. Is this
a new scam to extract money from your phone account."
So if you want to stop these calls you can try registering with TPS on 0800
398893.
Hope this helps some people out there, good luck Jeanette
***Jeanie Says***
This appears to be genuine, a friend of mine has received one of these calls. The TPS is the Telephone Preference Service and you can also register online at www.tpsonline.org.uk

Jan says (20th October 2006):
>>Have you heard of the www.freecycle.org Each area throughout the country has their own site which you can register with. The idea is that you offer goods for free which you no longer need but don't just want to bin. If you see an item that you want then you e mail the person giving it away and they decide who to give it to. We have just got 2 free mountain bikes from someone.
