Jeanette says (26th June 2008):
>>I thought that I need to let everyone know about a possible scam.
My mum recieved a letter from Sky tv, demanding £72.00 (or there abouts),nothing strange there you think, but my mum does not or ever had Sky tv, so i rang them today to enquire about the letter, I explained all of the above to them, and low and behold it is nothing to do with Sky TV !!!! none of my mums details are on any of there data bases!!
So Sky have been extremley helpful and contacted the police, they have also told my mum that if any one from "Sky" turn up at the door, to shut it and contact the police, straight away, also on the letter is says that baliffs will come and remove goods, this does NOT happen with the GENUINE company and again shut the door firmly and ring the police.
I hope that this helps someone else out there, and saves another older person sleepless night worrying.

>>I have sent you a bargain before and I thought I ought to tell you this one too. Went into Curry's Digital saw a x box hard drive for 35.95, went to game to see if they would price match, they said no, I asked if £35.00 was a good price, they said go buy, so went back and looked at label and it was on the wrong shelf, but I thought try it on and see what happens, but it came up at the till at £29.99, bought it and went to game to check it was the right thing and they said yes it was the same as theirs marked at £70.00 odd, not sure but around that.
They said I had a massive bargain.

>>I have had loads of calls today from 0845 6853000, it is a scam as you can see from below it will cost you £2.50 per minite if you except them, so heres what has been said about them.

"Got an automated call three times in quick succession today "you have
received a reverse charge call, press X to accept the call", no details
of who it was from, their number or how much it would cost. Looking up
the call costs it seems like accepting it costs a min. of 2.50. Is this
a new scam to extract money from your phone account."
So if you want to stop these calls you can try registering with TPS on 0800

Hope this helps some people out there, good luck Jeanette

>>I'm always looking out for bargains for myself. And I love your site! However, my kids have just discovered a great site where they can get bargains too. It's called www.swapitshop.com. Its like a Ebay but for kids. My kids are able to bid on toys, dvds, music and games with points called swapits. They are also able to sell things on the site that they don't want.

It saves me from buying these things myself! All I need to do is help them out with the postage.

I think it's a great site for other parents to know. It keeps my kids occupied for ages!

>>3 Mobile have some online promotional offers at the moment for new customers, however you'll have to be quick because I believe they end on 30th June 2008.

They are offering their Mix and Match 1100 tariff for £20 per month. 1100 refers to the amount of texts or mins available per month. For example if I used 200 texts I would be entitled to 900 minutes call time, and so on....

>>Using T-mobile in Europe? Don't text, MMS!
Rather bizarrely, if you send a picture message (MMS) when in one of T-Mobiles Region 2 countries (most of Europe) it costs 20p, whereas texting is 40p. Thus, if you want to text home simply send an MMS instead; don't worry if you haven't got a picture to send, just put the words in the message without one and it still works fine.

>>At my local Morrisons very often I find a nice discount notice for a product, but the shelf is empty, and when the product reappears, the notice is gone! I have learnt to READ the date of END OF OFFER while the notice is there (that is what matters at the till!), to make sure I get the offers.
For example, 10 days ago there was a BOGOF notice for Bertolli E/V olive oil 500ml gentle/fruity @£3.79, and no trace of the product --and END of the offer 1 June, so I grabbed 2x1 yesterday, despite being no notice (the till knew!!!)
