Jeanette says (26th June 2008):
>>I thought that I need to let everyone know about a possible scam.
My mum recieved a letter from Sky tv, demanding £72.00 (or there abouts),nothing strange there you think, but my mum does not or ever had Sky tv, so i rang them today to enquire about the letter, I explained all of the above to them, and low and behold it is nothing to do with Sky TV !!!! none of my mums details are on any of there data bases!!
So Sky have been extremley helpful and contacted the police, they have also told my mum that if any one from "Sky" turn up at the door, to shut it and contact the police, straight away, also on the letter is says that baliffs will come and remove goods, this does NOT happen with the GENUINE company and again shut the door firmly and ring the police.
I hope that this helps someone else out there, and saves another older person sleepless night worrying.

Jeanette says (7th November 2007):
>>I have had loads of calls today from 0845 6853000, it is a scam as you can see from below it will cost you £2.50 per minite if you except them, so heres what has been said about them.
"Got an automated call three times in quick succession today "you have
received a reverse charge call, press X to accept the call", no details
of who it was from, their number or how much it would cost. Looking up
the call costs it seems like accepting it costs a min. of 2.50. Is this
a new scam to extract money from your phone account."
So if you want to stop these calls you can try registering with TPS on 0800
398893.
Hope this helps some people out there, good luck Jeanette

This appears to be genuine, a friend of mine has received one of these calls. The TPS is the Telephone Preference Service and you can also register online at www.tpsonline.org.uk

>>I want to bring to your attention something which has angered me .We collected Holiday tokens from a Newspaper and applied for the holiday thinking it would be a good deal and to our horror by the time we paid the £15 ..total £60 for two (You have to pay for 4 people) the final total was nearly £180 for 3 days at Skegness the www.butlinsonline.co.uk website showed £116 we have contacted them about our concern to be told 'tough'.I believe the offer is misleading and wanted to highlight the fact that these holidays do not offer great value like they advertise,Please warn other site users

Millie says (29th May 2008):
>>At my local Morrisons very often I find a nice discount notice for a product, but the shelf is empty, and when the product reappears, the notice is gone! I have learnt to READ the date of END OF OFFER while the notice is there (that is what matters at the till!), to make sure I get the offers.
For example, 10 days ago there was a BOGOF notice for Bertolli E/V olive oil 500ml gentle/fruity @£3.79, and no trace of the product --and END of the offer 1 June, so I grabbed 2x1 yesterday, despite being no notice (the till knew!!!)
PS: does this happens also at your local Morrisons? especially on pricey items???
