Hi Doreen. It is worth reading the Frequently Asked Question http://www.118800.co.uk/faqs.html
It looks like they do not give out your number but contact you to ask you if you would like to be contacted by the person enquiring after your number. They make a charge of £1 to the person trying to contact you. They also say
'Our policy is not to include anyone in the directory who isn’t 18 years of age. However where a parent has given their mobile phone to a child to use, we are unable to identify this unless the parent informs us.'

>>Hi Jeannie, How worried should we be about this? Is it worth requesting that our details are removed?
***Jeanie Says***
I am not an expert on this but I don't think I will have my details removed - yet. If I start to get unsolicited calls I might remove it then. But it might even be a useful service to find people we have lost touch with.
